Crimea 1854-56, 4 clasps, Alma, Balaklava, Inkermann, Sebastopol (3972 R. Ellis, Coldm. Guards) regimentally impressed naming; Turkish Crimea 1855, British issue, unnamed, contact marks, otherwise very fine (2) £250-300

Richard Ellis was born at Dawlish, near Teignmouth, Devon, and enlisted for the Coldstream Guards at Exeter on 31 August 1852, aged 19 years 1 month. He served with the Army in the East for 2 years 4 months, and was discharged unfit for further service at London on 17 February 1857. Sold with copy discharge papers which confirm all clasps.
