Saya of brown and black lacquer imitating tree bark. Iron Higo Tsuba. Silver Omori style Fuchi-Kashira & Kojiri with breaking waves, gilt nanako Mino Goto Kodzuka with Kirin, dragon and puppy. Tsuka lacks same, Menuki and ito. The blade with an interesting presentation inscription ‘To Mr J. St A. Jewell (late Lieutenant R.N.V.R., H.M.S. Welford) from Captain H. Ichikawa and Supercargo T.
