English Retailed Hunting Sword, 18th century c1770 the 26” straight polished steel blade with triple fullers, the ornate silver coloured metal cross piece embossed with emblems of the chase and terminating in hounds’ heads quillons, the eight panel alternate light and dark horn grip terminating in a silver coloured metal embossed oval pommel; the wooden scabbard retains the majority of the contemporary decorated top chape this engraved on the reverse ‘M.Feesey (long ‘S’) Pall Mall’, the bottom chape a white metal replacement, the four light coloured horn panels of the hand grip are ‘sprung’ but still in place the sword otherwise in excellent condition with only a few very minor rust spots, the scabbard split and with only minute fractions of the original decorated leather covering remaining. £200-300
