1796 Pattern Infantry Officer’s Sword, the regulation 32” blade with extensive blue and gilt decoration to both sides, these include the crown and ‘GR’ cypher and the Royal Arms post 1801, the part only leather scabbard with the two top chapes only, the blue and gilt panels still bright and very fine the remainder of the blade with much surface rust, the bound silver wire grip badly fractured no gilt remains on all exposed areas, the scabbard lacks the last 6” and has a repair between the chapes. £150-250
