RAF Halton, Barrington-Kennett Trophy, silver medal, type 2, by J. Pinches, un-named, hallmarked London 1930, with additional clasp, uninscribed, swivel bar suspension, edge bruised, fine; original blue and green ribbon and ornate uninscribed clasp £40-60

Provenance:

John Pinches Archive Collection, Part 2, Glendining Auction, 17 November 1988, lot 455 (part);
bt Baldwin December 1988.

The swivel bar suspension on this and the following medal perhaps indicates that they are experimental issues by Pinches when the company were preparing the type 2 issue. All named Barrington-Kennett medals from type 2 onwards are believed to have fixed straight bar suspension, contrary to the information given in
Medals by John Pinches, by J.H. Pinches, London, 1987, p.136.
