a silver-gilt medal after B. Pistrucci (Lieut. Wm. Lucas, Capt. Comg. Praeds Troop, Bucks Yeoy. Cavy.), 35mm; Coronation, 1831, a silver-gilt regimental badge, william iv medal on Garter, centre named (Capt W. Lucas, late Bucks Yeo. Cavry.), arms of cross engraved (Ten Yrs. Ll. Se.), rev. engraved Royal arms and supporters, 35 x 19mm, first with clip and ring for suspension, second with bar suspender, about very fine and better (2) £300-400

The first medal, and those in the following three lots, are contemporary copies of the official George IV coronation medal by Pistrucci and were struck for issue to troopers in the Buckinghamshire Yeomanry Cavalry Hussars, who lined part of the coronation route. According to contemporary writer William Till, they were designed to be worn ‘on grand field days and state occasions.’
