Queen’s South Africa 1899-1902, 3 clasps, Cape Colony, Orange Free State, Transvaal (6806 Pte. G. Loader, 2nd Rl. Berks. Regt.) clasps mounted together, but loose on ribbon; together with a fine hinged silver tobacco box with gilded interior, hallmarks for Birmingham 1900, the outer lid engraved with arms of Abingdon, and inscribed ‘Presented to Private G. Loader, F. (Abingdon) Company, 1st V.B. R. Berks. Regt. on his return from active service with the Volunteer Company, 2nd Batt. Royal Berks. Ret. in South Africa 1900-1901’; Boer War period Royal Berkshire Regiment cap badge; and original vellum discharge certificate, first nearly extremely fine, and the second in very good condition and a most attractive piece (3) £250-300
