Afghanistan 1878-80, no clasp (32B/136 Pte. S. Pedley. 1/12th Regt.) very fine £60-80

Samuel Pedley was born in the Parish of Woolstanton, Burslem, Staffordshire, and enlisted for the 12th Regiment at Hanley, Staffordshire, on 27 July 1874, his previous trade being a Sager Maker. He landed in India in October 1876 and served as a Private throughout. In November 1877 he was treated for a dog bite, and in December 1879 he was tried and imprisoned for being drunk on duty in the field, receiving also 25 lashes. He was discharged at Bury St Edmunds on 22 March 1888. Sold with copy discharge papers.
