Army of India 1799-1826, 2 clasps, Maheidpoor, Ava (J. McVeane, 1st Foot) short hyphen reverse, officially impressed naming, severe bruising to edge and both sides, therefore fine £900-1200

Ex Glendining April 1964. Only 21 medals issued to the 1st Foot with these two clasps.

James McVeane was born at Kircudbright, Scotland, and enlisted for the 1st Foot at Hamilton on 8 January 1805, aged 16. He served in India from September 1807, until his discharge from chronic hepatities on 21 June 1826. Sold with copy discharge papers.
