Waterloo 1815 (Corp. William Tressler, 1st Reg. Dragoon Guards) fitted with original steel clip and ring suspension, minor edge bruises, otherwise good very fine £1200-1400

William Tressler was a frame work knitter from the small village of Walton, near Lutterworth, Leicestershire, before enlisting into the King’s Dragoon Guards on 14 June 1809, at the age of 15. He fought with the regiment at Waterloo, and was admitted to the Royal Hospital, Chelsea, on 27 January 1817, in consequence of ‘imperfect use of right leg and thigh from an injury on service received 18th June 1815 at Waterloo in action with the enemy.’
