Robert Edward Thorne Huddart was educated at Charterhouse. He enlisted in the Public Schools Battalion, Royal Fusiliers in September 1914 and was commissioned in the Rifle Brigade, Special Reserve, May 1915 and joined the 2nd Bn. in France in November. He was Killed in Action by shell fire 30 June 1916, the eve of the Battle of the Somme and is buried in Aveluy Communal Cemetery Extension, Somme.
