Samuel Hall was born in the Parish of Tweford, near Derby, and enlisted at the age of eighteen on 4 April 1814. He was discharged on 6 May 1816, in consequence of ‘being disabled left leg from gunshot wound at Waterloo, 18 June 1815’, and admitted to Chelsea Hospital on pension.
