Richard Holden was born at Bolton-le-Moors, Lancashire, and served in the 48th Regiment for 9 yaers. He was discharged in 1812, in consequence of ‘wounded right scapula and injury of the clavicle at Albuhera.’ He was placed on a pension of 6 pence per diem, increased to 9 pence per diem from 29 January 1856.
