An Abyssinian campaign pair to Private Lord Hoyle, 3rd Dragoon Guards

Abyssinia 1867 (539 L. Hoyle, 3rd Dragn. Gds.); Army L.S. & G.C., V.R., small letter reverse (536 Pte. l. Hoyle, 3rd Dragn. Gds.) note incorrect regimental number on the first, the first a little polished on the obverse, therefore nearly very fine, the second nearly extremely fine (2) £250-300

Lord Hoyle was born at Rochdale, Lancaster, and enlisted for the 3rd Dragoon Guards at Halifax on 27 January 1858, aged 20. He served overseas in the East Indies for 9 years 7 months, and in Abyssinia for 4 months. He was discharged at Dublin on 26 May 1876.
