Theodore Julian Preston, LRCP, MRCS, Deputy Inspector-General, Hospitals, Royal Navy, was a surgeon who distinguished himself at the bombardment of Alexandria on 11 July 1882 and during the Egyptian War; he was also awarded the Sir Gilbert Blane gold medal. He retired on 2 September 1902
