DNW 49, 1032); Expozita Targ a Industriei Romanesti, Bucharest, 1934, a light bronze medal by E.W. Becker, bust of Carol II right, rev. artisan with cog-wheel and hammer, 51mm; Prietenia Roman-Sovietica, Arlus, 1946, a plated iron medal by C. Medrea for the Banca Nationala, naked male artisans with flags, rev. legend, 50mm; together with other Romanian medals (6), by Becker, Demian, Carniol, Kristescu, etc. [9]. First two very fine, others fine and better (£40-60)

Dr Carol Davila (1828-84) was sent by the French government to improve sanitation in Bucharest from 1870 to 1877
