Robert Waters and a relative (perhaps his son) established their bank before the turn of the 19th century. They were later joined in partnership by Jonathan Waters and David Jones, the bank changing its name to Waters, Jones & Co in 1828. Waters Jones failed in 1832 and the assets were taken over by David Morris & Sons
