North, Shilling, mantle from the borough arms, brecknock silver token for xii pence, rev. payable at george norths general waggon warehouse, for all parts of the united kingdom, edge grained to right, 3.87g/12h (D 1). Minor surface marks, otherwise extremely fine and nicely toned (£80-100)

George North of Brecon was the only issuer of silver tokens to state his trade as a carrier. His wagons ran a regular service to the George in London twice a week, via Newport and Gloucester
