Thomas Charles Chamberlain was appointed Temporary 2nd Lieutenant on 18 December 1914; Temporary Lieutenant, Middlesex Regiment, 8 October 1915; transferred from Reserve Battalion, Middlesex Regiment, to the Attached List, 1 September 1916; transferred to the General List and appointed Flying Officer, Royal Flying Corps, 6 February 1917; promoted to Flight Commander with the temporary rank of Captain, 16 November 1917; promoted to Captain and transferred to the Unemployed List, 2 March 1919.
