1939-45 Star; Air Crew Europe Star; Africa Star; Defence & War Medals; General Service 1918-62, 1 clasp, Malaya, G.VI.R. (536227 Act. Sgt., R.A.F.); General Service 1962, 1 clasp, South Arabia (W.O., (A O536227) R.A.F.); Royal Air Force L.S. & G.C., E.II.R., 1st issue, with additional Long Service bar (W/O, (536227) R.A.F.) together with Air Gunner’s cloth badge, four photographs and original Flying Log Book for the period June 1940 to June 1945, nearly extremely fine (8) £350-400

Flowerdew served as Wireless Operator and Air Gunner with No. 8 Squadron in Aden from June 1940 to September 1941. During this period he took part in 78 operational patrols in Vincents - anit-submarine, bombing, reconnaissance, etc. After various training postings he joined No. 515 Squadron, flying Defiants, and took part in a further 31 operations between November 1942 and December 1943.
