Cravens Part in The Great War, compiled and edited by John Clayton, 391pp, containing numerous named photographs and biographical detail of servicemen from the Craven area; together with London County Council Record of War Service 1914-1918, with book plate inscribed ‘Presented by the London County Council in memory of the services rendered by Sec. Lieut. J. R. Carne in the Great War 1914-18’, both in original cloth bindings, good condition £30-50

Second Lieutenant John Reeves Carne died of wounds in France and Flanders on 25 July 1917 whilst serving with the 12th Battalion, Royal Sussex Regiment.
