3rd Suffolk Rifle Volunteers, an extremely scarce Field Officer’s undress sabretache c1870-1880, the plain tan leather face bearing the copper gilt and silver plated badge as worn on the pouch belt plate, a QVC over a circular laurel wreath with seeded central ground upon this the unique mongram, ‘3SVR’, three screw fasteners to the reverse, this mount is contemporary with the sabretache, the gilt rubbed on the mount, the sabretache ‘dry’ and buckled with some worm damage, the three ‘D’ rings present with the three corresponding finial straps present (1 a/f), elements of the primary slings present but fractured, the reverse retaining strap and stud present but damaged and loose, this rare item requires careful restoration (1) £200-300
