73rd Regiment of Foot, a scarce officer’s shoulder belt plate c1840-1855 as described in Parkyn p211, the rectangular copper gilt back plate with gilt mounts the crown and laurel/thistle sprays, and silver mounts ‘73’ and the three fretted battle honour scrolls, ‘Mangalore’ ‘Seringapatam’ ‘Waterloo’, two hooks and two studs to reverse, the gilt heavily rubbed overall (1) £250-350
