Medal presented at Windsor Castle on 20 June 1872, the fourteenth award in the Register. Bar awarded in 1882.

Charles James Green was born at Elsenden, Hertfordshire, in 1823 and entered the Queen’s service as an Extra Assistant in the Cellars in October 1838; 2nd Yeoman of the Cellars, 1851; 1st Yeoman of the Cellars, 1858; 2nd Clerk of the Kitchen, 1868; 1st Clerk of the Kitchen, 1880. He retired in 1882 and died on 11 November 1887, aged 64 years.
