China 1842 (A. G. Moorhead, Lieut. 26th Regiment Foot) fitted with silver ring and bar supsension, the bar detached, together with another China 1842, renamed to the same recipient, and related medals (3): British War Medal (925441 Pte. I. Taylor, 5-Can. Inf.); Defence Medal, and miniature Order of St John, edge bruising and contact marks, otherwise nearly very fine (5) £400-500

Alexander Gordon Moorhead was appointed Ensign in the 26th Foot on 26 May 1822; Lieutenant, 3 December 1825; Captain Half-Pay, 3 March 1848. He served throughout the war in China as Sub-assistant Commissary-General, and was present at Chusan, the Bogue Forts, operations before Canton, at Amoy, Chusan, Ningpo - and sortie in defence, Chapoo, Woosung, Shanghae, Chin Kiang Foo and Nankin.
