Military General Service 1793-1814, 1 clasp, Barrosa (Diederich Fennecker, 2nd Hussars, K.G.L.) with original ribbon, toned, nearly extremely fine £400-500

A total of only 43 medals to the 2nd Hussars, King’s German Legion, mostly with the single clasp for Barrosa. The regiment was not brought up to Waterloo, but left in occupation of a line of posts on the French frontier, extending from Courtrey, through Menin, Ypres, Loo, and Fürnes, to the North Sea, which line they had been holding since the end of March 1815.
