The Order of the British Empire, C.B.E. (Military) 1st type neck badge; India General Service 1895-1902, 2 clasps, Punjab Frontier 1897-98, Tirah 1897-98 (Lieut., 2d Bn. K.O. Sco. Bord.); Queen’s South Africa 1899-1902, 1 clasp, Transvaal (Capt., K.O. Sco. Bord.) small chip to lower arm of the first, otherwise very fine (3) £300-350

Ronald Charles Gibb was commissioned into the King’s Own Scottish Borderers in March 1894. He served in the campaign on the North West Frontier of India under Sir William Lockhart in 1897-98 with the Tirah Expeditionary Force with the 2nd battalion King’s Own Scottish Borderers and was present in the engagments at Dargai on the 18th October, at the forcing of the Sampagha and Arhanga Passes, and in the operations in the Dwatoi country and in the Bara Valley (Medal with 2 clasps). He served in the South African war with the 1st battalion King’s Own Scottish Borderers, as Camp Adjutant and Railway and Station Staff Officer, during operations in the Transvaal July 1901 to May 1902 (Medal with clasp). He was recalled from the Reserve of Officers, Army Service Corps, for service during the Great War but did not serve overseas (Brevet of Lt.-Colonel; C.B.E.).
