The Most Honourable Order of The Bath, C.B. (Military) neck badge, silver-gilt and enamels, converted for breast wear, small chip to one reverse arm; The Order of the Indian Empire, C.I.E., 3rd type neck badge, gold and enamels, converted for breast wear; India General Service 1908-35, 1 clasp, North West Frontier 1908 (Lieut., 45th Rattray’s Sikhs); 1914-15 Star (Captain, 45/Rattray’s Sikhs); British War and Victory Medals, with M.I.D. oak leaf (Bt-Lt-Col.); General Service 1918-62, 2 clasps, Kurdistan, Iraq (Lt. Col.); French Croix de Guerre 1914-1918, with bronze palm, the last six on old court mounting as worn, nearly extremely fine (8) £1200-1400

Robert Heath Anderson was born on 4 August 1882, son of Colonel W. R. Le G. Anderson, C.B., and was educated at Cheltenham College and R.M.C. Sandhurst. He was gazetted to the Middlesex Regiment in 1901 and transferred to the Indian Army, 45th Rattray’s Sikhs, in 1902. He served on the North West Frontier of India in the Zakha Khel Expedition of 1908 (Medal and clasp); Great War 1914-18, in Egypt and Mesopotamia (despatches
London Gazette 15 August 1917, 12 March 1918, and 5 June 1919; brevet Lt.-Colonel; French Croix de Guerre with palm); Kurdistan 1919 (despatches London Gazette 12 February and 21 May 1920; medal with clasp); Iraq, Arab Rebellion, 1920 (clasp). Anderson commanded 45th Rattray’s Sikhs, 1926-30, and 3rd (Jhelum) Infantry Brigade, 1930-34. He became Temporary Brigadier in 1930, was appointed C.I.E. in 1933, C.B. in 1934, and retired the same year. He died at Mary Tavy, Devon, on 23 October 1940.
