Three: Flight Sergeant T. R. Davis, No. 9 Squadron, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve

1939-45 Star; Air Crew Europe Star; War Medal, together with named condolence slip; card box of issue addressed to his father at Streatham, London; and a letter written by recipient on R.C.A.F. headed paper, in which he talks about his Navigator’s course, extremely fine (3) £150-180

Flight Sergeant (Navigator) Thomas Rhodes Davis was killed on 23 November 1943 when his Lancaster crashed whilst returning from a bombing raid over Berlin. He also took part in the Peenemunde Raid on 17 August 1943.

Sold with a very large quantity of research material, including copied photographs of recipient and a number of letters from people who knew Davis. This group is extensively featured in the book
Researching British Military Medals, by Steve Dymond, a copy of which is included with the lot.
