Alfred Whalley, born Collyhurst, Lancashire, enlisted Manchester, 5th Bn., Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers (formerly 5523, Lancashire Fusiliers), was killed in action on 11 October 1918. He is buried in Beaurevoir British Cemetery, Aisne, France.

William Henry Whalley, born and enlisted Manchester, 2/8th Bn., Manchester Regiment, was killed in action on 14 June 1917, and is buried in Cambrin Military Cemetery, Pas de Calais, France.

These three brothers were the sons of Robert and Mary Ellen Whalley, of Newton Heath, Manchester. All three Registered packets are addressed to Newton Heath.
