William Henry Taylor was born at St Aubyn, Devon, was educated at Greenwich Hospital School and joined the Navy as a Boy Writer in February 1893. He rose to Chief Writer in February 1908 and was awarded his L.S. & G.C. medal in February 1911. During the Great War he served in H.M.Ships Amphion, April to August 1914, Faulknor, August to October 1914, Undaunted, October to December 1914, Dido, January 1915 to May 1917, Vivid barracks, May to July 1917, and Eaglet, July 1917 to September 1918. He was promoted to Temporary Warrant Writer in 1918. Sold with copy service record.
