Robert Emmanuel Warry served in the ranks 15 years 200 days, as Warrant Officer Class 2 for 8 years 59 days, and as Warrant Officer Class 1 for 5 years 215 days. He was appointed Assistant Instructor of Armourers on 21 June 1939, was commissioned Lieutenant on the same day and transferred to the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, becoming Captain in June 1945 and Major in July 1946. The Army List for 1947 confirms the award of the M.B.E.
