Zeppelin Interest, a very large and heavy heart shaped oak frame enclosing nine Red Cross ‘Genuine Zeppelin Wire’ printed cards, seven of which bear the original artefact, additionally there are five further relics from the air-ship. An oval oak plaque in the centre bound with a section of plaited wire bears an engraved brass plate, ‘Souvenir of “Our Day”/1916/Made from the German Zeppelin Wire/From the first Zeppelin brought down/at Cuffley 3rd Sept 1916/It is estimated that the Souvenirs/Made from this Zeppelin/Brought in £25,000 to the funds of the/British Red Cross Society/The Order of St John of Jerusalem’, artefacts with surface rusting otherwise very good condition £300-500
