Captain C.C.B. Tew was severely wounded on 27 February 1900, during the attack on Terrace Hill, north of the Tugela, in Natal. In the same attack Captain C. Mansel-Jones, of the same regiment, was also severely wounded and subsequently awarded the Victoria Cross. Tew and Mansel-Jones were the only Captains and the most senior officers of the West Yorks to be wounded in this action. Sold with further research.
