Queen’s South Africa 1899-1902, 1 clasp, Belmont (7641 Pte. W. Brain, Gren. Gds.) some minor damage to clasp carriage, and one or two edge bruises, otherwise good very fine £120-140

Wounded at Belmont on 23 November 1899, by a gun shot to his left arm, and was discharged from the army. He re-enlisted into his old regiment in November 1914 and served for the duration of the War.
