William Edwards was born at Banchory, Aberdeen, and attested at Aberdeen on 28 March 1860. He served in the Indian Army, unattached, until April 1861 when he volunteered for the 101st Foot. He re-engaged at Cawnpore in February 1868 and was transferred to Army Reserve in July 1871. Recalled to Army Service in April 1878, he was posted to the 71st Regiment until his final discharge in September 1879. Sold with copy discharge papers.
