K.C.B.’, additionally bearing the stamp mark of the London Joint City & Midland Bank Ltd., 69 Pall Mall, SW’, the book contains entries for the years 1920-22, good condition £60-80

Edward Stafford Fitzherbert (13th Baron Stafford) was born on 17 April 1864, the third son of Basil Thomas Fitzherbert, of Swynnerton Parks, Staffordshire. Educated at Oscott College, Birmingham and entered the Royal Navy in 1877. Promoted to Lieutenant, 1886; Commander, 1899; Captain, 1904; Rear-Admiral, 1915 and Vice-Admiral, 1920. Served in Egypt, 1882 (medal and star); and East Africa, 1888 (despatches). Commanded Colossus in the Grand Fleet, 1914-15; Admiral of Minesweepers, 1916; Director of Torpedoes and Mines, 1917. Then Commander-in-Chief of the Cape Station, before being placed on the Retired List in 1923. Promoted to Admiral on the Retired List, 1925. Awarded the C.B., 1918 and K.C.B., 1920. Succeeded his brother as 13th Baron Stafford in 1932. He died on 28 September 1941.
