Army L.S. & G.C., V.R., 3rd issue, small letter reverse (1066 Pte. C. Cooper, Rl. W. Surr. R.) minor edge bruising, good very fine £80-100

Charles Cooper was born in Leather Lane, London. A Draper by occupation, he attested for the 2nd Foot at Westminster on 14 June 1865, aged 20 years. With the regiment he served in the East Indies, July 1866-April 1879. Awarded the L.S. & G.C. Medal with gratuity in 1883 - his only medallic award. Discharged on 22 June 1886 at the termination of his second period of engagement. With copied service papers.
