(Civil) 1st type set of insignia, neck badge, silver-gilt and enamel, enamel damage to one arm; breast star, silver, silver-gilt and enamel, with neck cravat, in Garrard, London case of issue; together with related Victory Medal 1914-19 (M. M. Beeton, V.A.D.) generally good very fine (3) £500-600

Sir Mayson Moss Beeton, son of Isabella Mary Beeton- the “Mrs Beeton” who compiled the “Book of Household Management”; she died at his birth in 1865. During the Great War he worked in the finance department of the Ministry of Munitions and organised and administered the Newfoundland Forestry Corps. Awarded the K.B.E. (
London Gazette 1 January 1920).

With K.B.E. bestowal document to Mayson Moss Beeton Esq., several newspaper cuttings and other copied research.
