Sydney Francis Davies was commissioned in the Army Catering Corps from No. 123 O.C.T. Regiment, Royal Artillery in June 1941 and, although employed as a Catering Assistant in the Central Mediterranean Force from December 1943 to October 1945, witnessed no active service. Pre-war he had been employed at the Trocadero, and the Strand Palace and Cumberland Hotels in London; sold with hand written service details.
With M.I.D. Certificate named to Sergeant C. Bell, Royal Army Service Corps, London Gazette 19 September 1946.
Sergeant Charles Bell, R.A.S.C., late Duke of Lancaster’s Yeomanry, born in Toxteth, Liverpool, 14 November 1910. Attested April 1939, Duke of Lancaster’s Yeomanry. Served in India and Burma, December 1943-October 1945. Transferred to the R.A.S.C. in October 1944, attached to Indian Armoured Corps. Mentioned in despatches for Burma. With copied service notes.
