Joseph Huggins was born in Oxfordshire and enlisted in the Military Train in August 1857, aged 24 years. He subsequently witnessed active service in New Zealand in April-June 1866 (Medal), transferred to the Army Service Corps in February 1870 and was discharged in December 1877; sold with copied medal roll verification and discharge papers.
