New Zealand 1845-66, reverse undated (1410. J. Cochrane 2nd Bn 18th Foot) officially impressed naming, very fine £300-350

Private James Cochrane was discharged at Auckland, New Zealand, on 23 December 1868, in consequence of chronic rheumatism ‘by service in New Zealand, where he served thro’ the war’. His total service amounted to 8 years 337 days, during which period he served abroad in New Zealand 5 years 267 days. His name appears eleven times in the Regimental Defaulters Book, and he was tried once by Court Martial. Sold with copied discharge papers.
