1895 Pattern Infantry Officer’s Presentation Sword to H. C. E. Westropp, 63rd Regiment, the 82 cm bright blade with single fuller by Henry Wilkinson, Pall Mall, London (No. 33474), the plated blade etched with the crown and VR cypher ‘H. C. E. Westropp, 63rd Regt.’ the Royal Arms and the Westropp full achievement of arms, the pierced hand guard with crowned VR cypher. The Patent Solid Hilt with wire bound composition hand grip, the backstrap with engine turned decoration complete with gold and crimson sword knot and contained in its plated scabbard, sold with a large quantity of research material concerning Colonel Westropp, very fine condition £400-600

Note: Westropp was later a Brigadier-General and commanded the Manchester Pals City Brigades in 1914.
