Daisy Eileen Nunn entered the Royal Canadian Air Force as a Laboratory Assistant in 1942, direct from her employment at the Banting Institute. A graduate of Toronto University, she was granted a quick release from service at the war’s end, at the special request of her former employer, her work in the field of microbiology and, more specifically, in cutting-edge penicillin therapy, being urgently required.
Sold with a good quantity of original documentation, including R.C.A.F. papers, in addition to further documents appertaining to her husband, James Hinton, himself a former member of the R.C.A.F.; also invitations for them to attend garden parties at Government House in June 1965 and Holyroodhouse, Edinburgh in July 1974.
