Noel Richard Brady, who was educated at Bayfield School and Auckland Grammar School, entered the New Zealand Army as a Sapper in the 2nd Echelon, N.Z.E.F. He subsequently fought in the Greek campaign in 1941 and was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant before seeing further action in the Western Desert with 6th and 7th Field Companies, R.N.Z.E. Wounded at El Alamein, he was embarked for New Zealand, where he ended the war as a Major at the Army School, Trentham; sold with a photocopy of his Greek War Medal certificate, dated 23 August 1980.
