Five: Major G. R. Parrott, Highland Light Infantry, late Royal Scots

1914-15
Star (2181 Pte., R. Scots); British War and Victory Medals (2181 Pte., R. Scots); Defence and War Medals, these privately engraved (157382 Major G. R. Parrott, H.L.I.) good very fine (5) £60-80

Private George Richardson Parrott, 9th Battalion Royal Scots, entered France on 24 February 1915. He was commissioned as a General List Lieutenant on 25 February 1917. As an Acting Captain he was posted to No. 2 District Infantry Records Office in Hamilton, Scotland. This sedentary posting might indicate he had been wounded or had been medically downgraded. He left the Army in December 1918. His home address on his m.i.c. is given as 54 Dudley Avenue, North Leith, Scotland. There is no George R. Parrott listed as serving in the Regular Army during W.W.2, so it is possible he was serving in the H.L.I. Home Guard resulting in the two privately named WW2 medals.

With some copied m.i.c. with service and family details.
