Star (Capt., Lan. Fus.); British War and Victory Medals (Major); Territorial Decoration, G.V.R., unnamed, complete with top bar, mounted as worn, very fine and better (4) £200-260

Louis Edge was born in Oldham, Lancashire c.1892, the son of Ames and Ann Hamer Edge, of High Lawn, Worsley. Manchester. As a Captain in the 7th Battalion Lancashire Fusiliers, he entered Gallipoli on 11 September 1915 (his m.i.c. entry gives the date as 11.9.14!). Later promoted to Major. With copied m.i.c. and a copied photograph of officers, including Edge, aboard the S.S. Nile, on their way to Gallipoli in May 1915. With copied census and other research.
