Daniell Edward Parrott was born in New Cross, Kent on 11 October 1893. Employed as an Assistant Waiter in civilian life, he entered the Royal Navy in June 1912 as an Officers’ Steward. From October 1913 until his demobilisation in March 1919, he served on the battleship H.M.S. Ajax. He was present aboard the ship at the battle of Jutland. With copied service paper.
