Henry Edward Harrison was awarded the R.V.M. in Silver on 31 December 1976 as Deputy Head Chauffeur at the Royal Mews. He was the son-in-law of Frederick Henry Absalom (see lot 104).

Sold with a quantity of original documents, including: R.V.M. award document, with associated slip and letters of congratulation; Jubilee 1977 award document; Royal Household Long and Faithful Service award document, with associated slip; Iran, Homayoun Medal permission to wear document (1959); Liberian Medal of Merit permission to wear document (1962); Greek Order of George I award and permission to wear documents (1963); Jordan, Order of Independence award document and associated papers (1966); Dutch Order of the Crown Medal of Merit award and permission to wear documents (1972); Swedish Royal Household Medal permission to wear document (1975); French Medal of Honour permission to wear document (1978); Portuguese Order of Henry the Navigator Medal award and permission to wear document; R.V.O. Order of Service at St. George’s Chapel Windsor Castle (5) 7 December 1978; 10 April 1987; 30 April 1991; 27 April 1995; 29 April 1999; and Buckingham Palace slip stating: ‘The Queen will receive Mr E. Harrison on his retirement’, dated 12 December 1984; with a photograph and newspaper cutting showing the Queen being driven (by Mr Harrison?). Papers contained in a folder.
