18th Century, Aylesbury, Skidmore’s mule Halfpenny, 1797, similar, rev. shepherd reclining under a tree, edge grained, 9.47g/3h (DH 10). Brilliant mint state with full original colour, a superb specimen and extremely rare; only two other specimens known to the cataloguer, one of which is badly cracked (£400-500)

rev. die confirms that this mule was made late in 1796 (Thompson, BNJ 1971, p.138, 25)
